On the Links: Opinion Offering; Remembering Mitchell; Joan Gruben

Hey, y’all. The blogs were down for a while, but they’re back. So I have a few links for you this morning. Plenty of good reading material to help you make it to lunch.

• My opinion offering is on the MSU basketball team. It’s a young group, but it’s a group willing to listen and learn, and that’s an encouraging sign.

• From Brandon Speck, a story about the late Devin Mitchell, the Starkville High football player who was shot and killed on Jan. 1. The Yellow Jackets will be playing for the Class 5A state championship on Saturday with Mitchell on their minds.

• On a far less inspirational note, Southern Miss quarterback Anthony Alford was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a fight. Y’all remember his momma, right?

• If you like MSU and you like hockey, well, show up to the BancorpSouth Arena this weekend. They gots the hockey.

Jon Gruden to Tennessee? Something like that.

I am the online content coordinator for DJournal.com. Previously at the Journal, I covered Mississippi State athletics (2008-13), high schools (2004-08), and was on the copy desk (2002-04). I'm working on a recipe for bacon-flavored coffee, which would solve all the world's problems.
