On the Links: Hoops o’ Plenty

Hey, y’all, it’s Monday, but I have coffee, so it’s not all bad. I have a few links for your reading pleasure.

In today’s Journal you can find our weekly basketball lookahead, in which we examine the struggles of both Ole Miss and MSU. Hard to believe, in a sense, but at 18-5 the Rebels are not shoe-ins for the NCAA tournament. Gotta finish strong. As for MSU, one wonders how long this losing streak will be, especially if Jalen Steele doesn’t come back soon from his indefinite suspension.

Also in today’s paper is my MSU rewind.

Later today, we’ll speak with head coach Rick Ray – first on the SEC coaches teleconference, then at his weekly presser. We’ll also catch up with some players. So look for updates.

• In women’s action, the Lady Bulldogs went up to Missouri and grabbed a 61-56 win. MSU won its first SEC road game of the year.

• In case you missed it (ICYMI in Twitter parlance), I had a column on Sunday regarding MSU’s signing class.

I am the online content coordinator for DJournal.com. Previously at the Journal, I covered Mississippi State athletics (2008-13), high schools (2004-08), and was on the copy desk (2002-04). I'm working on a recipe for bacon-flavored coffee, which would solve all the world's problems.
