Video: Prescott Ready for Starting Role

STARKVILLE | Dak Prescott has appeared in 13 games during his still young career at Mississippi State. But Saturday against Alcorn State is expected to be the first start for the sophomore quarterback, due to starter Tyler Russell‘s concussion.

Prescott accounted for eight touchdowns – four passing and four rushing – in 2012 and completed 7 of 17 passing for 89 yards in the season opener against Oklahoma State.

He spoke with the media about his preparations in practice this week and making the transition to “a new butt.”

Some may say that this is the beginning of the end for the Mullen era. From an outsider’s perspective, looking at the youth on the roster (9 srs.), I would be a little more upbeat. Wait until December to make a proper analysis.
