Live from Davis Wade Stadium

davis wade dayGood afternoon folks and welcome to Davis Wade Stadium on the campus of Mississippi State. I’m not quite sure how I’m planning to do in-game updates just yet but I’ll update on here as well as Twitter (@loganlowery) and see how that goes today. I’ll update the blog as the day goes so stay tuned…

Alcorn State has arrived at Davis Wade Stadium as the Florida-Miami game is being shown on the MooTube.

MSU has now arrived and going through the Dawg Walk in the Junction. Meanwhile, I am partaking in the pregame meal of baked chicken, scalloped potatoes and a roll.

Some of the Bulldogs specialists have taken the field to warm up. It looks like they will be wearing their glossy maroon helmets with maroon facemasks, maroon jerseys and white pants.

Tyler Russell is not listed on the depth chart for this game. Dak Prescott is listed as the starter at quarterback with true freshman Damian Williams serving as the back-up.

Right guard Justin Malone is still listed on the depth chart as is cornerback Jamerson Love. Kendrick Market will take over Jay Hughes’ spot at strong safety with Quadry Antoine listed as the back-up. Ferlando Bohanna is also missing from the depth chart with Richie Brown listed behind Benardrick McKinney at linebacker.

The quarterbacks have taken the field for warm-ups. Russell is wearing a t-shirt and gym shorts while the rest of the signal callers are dressed out.

There will be seven new starters today – Prescott, Market, RG Ben Beckwith, RB Josh Robinson, DE Chris Jones, CB Cedric Jiles, FS Dee Arrington.

Sophomore defensive tackle Quay Evans is dressed out however Nick James is not.

True freshman running back Ashton Shumpert could also see his initial playing time in college today.

Alcorn State will be clad in gold helmets, white jerseys and purple pants.

Love, Perkins, Malone and Russell are not dressed out for today’s game.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
