Howdy from Aggieland. It’s a dreary day so far with morning showers and its overcast here in College Station but the people here couldn’t be nicer. This is my first trip and like South Carolina last week, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I’ve also been cruising around and turning heads in my lime jellybean rental car. I listened to some of the women’s basketball game last night and was able to watch the men’s game on the internet. I noticed that former Texas A&M and Mississippi State head coach Jackie Sherrill has a spot here in the press box for today’s game.

I’ll be here for the duration so stay tuned for updates throughout the day.

The Bulldogs have arrived and are currently walking the field.

MSU will wear its glossy maroon helmets with maroon facemasks and white uniforms.

Not only does Texas A&M’s campus have a whole Air Force base fell, it’s pregame festivities are strangely interesting as well.

MSU linebacker Deontae Skinner is out for today’s game with a sprained neck.

Tyler Russell will be the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs today.

Cool, former president George H. Bush is at the game today.

MSU won the toss and chose to receive.

Yup, the press box does shake just like they warned us about.

Russell does indeed start the game at quarterback but the Bulldogs three-and-out on the opening drive. Devon Bell starts at punter again.

Bulldogs force A&M to three-and-out on the opening drive as well.

I still don’t understand why teams continually run short yardage plays out of the shotgun.

Dak Prescott in for the Bulldogs third series.

Postgame notes & quotes

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
