Mississippi State will venture to the Pacific Northwest to play Oregon State next season.

Head coach Rick Ray announced via Twitter that the Bulldogs have a home-and-home deal in place with the Beavers. MSU will travel to Corvallis on Dec. 13 and Oregon State will make the return trip to Starkville in 2015.

The two teams have met just once on the hardwood with the Bulldogs winning a 76-62 decision at the Ford Far West Classic in Portland, Ore., in 1996.

The Beavers went 16-16 last season including an 8-12 mark in the Pac-12 leading to the firing of head coach Craig Robinson on Monday. Robinson is the older brother of First Lady Michelle Obama.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
