Mississippi State continues to strengthen its non-conference men’s basketball schedule.

The Bulldogs announced a two-game deal with Tulane to go along with previous outings against Florida State and Oregon State. MSU will travel to New Orleans on Dec. 6 and the Green Wave coming to Starkville in 2015-16.

“Tulane provides yet another high major opponent for us with their move to the American Athletic Conference,” said MSU coach Rick Ray in a statement. “The Green Wave will prove to be a great opponent for us and our fan base. Bulldog fans on the coast and in the New Orleans area will get a chance to see us play and hopefully provide a nice environment for us on the road.”

The Bulldogs have a 54-38 advantage in the series with Tulane holding a slight 26-24 edge in New Orleans. State has won six straight in the series including a 72-50 victory in the last meeting in New Orleans as part of the 2003 Nokia Sugar Bowl Classic.

The Green Wave are coming off a 17-17 campaign and an appearance in the College Basketball Invitational.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
