Former Mississippi State pitcher Kendall Graveman will be added to the Blue Jays expanded roster.

Kendall Graveman becomes the first member of Mississippi State’s 2013 World Series squad to reach the Major Leagues.

The right-handed pitcher was called up by the Toronto Blue Jays when rosters expanded on Monday. The promotion was the fifth Graveman has experienced this season having started the spring with Class-A Lansing.

Graveman has made 27 starts this season going 14-6 with a 1.83 earned run average, 115 strikeouts and 31 walks over 167.1 innings. Opponents are hitting just .231 with four homers against him.

The Alexander City, Ala., native was selected in the eighth round (235th overall) in the 2013 MLB Draft. He reaches the big leagues after just 37 appearances in the minors.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
